As well as running Rizq clothing, I am a Product Owner working in an Agile environment for a billion Euro corporate. Both of these endeavours were strategically crafted in order to pursue my true inspiration and purpose, TeamsApp.
TeamsApp is a mobile app that solves the problem of cancelled 5 a side football games.
But before I get in to that pitch, I should give you some context to who I am. Here's a post I wrote on 31 Dec 2016:
The rules of the game have changed. As of tonight, we officially enter the 'Data Revolution'. This will be the most prosperous Age in human history. The next 30 years will be the best 30 years to ever be alive for those who understand and implement the rules.
This also then means the next 30 years will be the toughest for those of you who do not know the rules. You will continue to be used by your employers and the society around. Money will become less and less valuable but your salary will not shift in line with this, so your time becomes cheaper and cheaper.
You will either get left behind, take advantage of the opportunities this time in our human history has to offer or you are of the ones who will create the opportunities for others. At some point you will need to transition between all of these to create the world you want: 'The Employee' who has a job --> 'The Self Employed Technician' who creates his own job --> 'The Business Owner' who has a system in place for him to generate an income --> 'The Investor' who uses his wealth to create more wealth.
We need to think BIG. We need to take our minds out of it's comfort zone. They say that's 'where the magic happens'. The truth is, the magic happens all the time, though we tend to use it on a tiny tiny scale. Our minds are the greatest tool for carving the world in to the way we want it to look. It is like any muscle in our body - you stretch it and it becomes stronger.
All it requires is a constant reminder of what your dreams and visions are, fuelled by knowledge from men and women who have already achieved what you are looking to achieve and the right action at the right time in order that it can interpret results and help you become more efficient and effective in realising those dreams and visions.
Look around at the world, there is nothing but war for profit happening especially in the Muslim lands. When the wars are over and the dust has settled and it is time to rebuild - who will the people of Syria / Palestine / Libya / Iraq etc. turn to to rebuild their water treatment facilities? or reconstruct homes and offices? or provide power and energy to them? or give them access to the internet? I'm afraid that it will not be the employee and it will not be the self employed technician.
It's OK to start small as long as you are thinking big. In fact, the best thing you can do is small acts every single day in pursuit of your goals. This will add up to become something huge over time.
Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Take up good deeds only as much as you are able, for the best deeds are those done regularly even if they are few.” [Sunan Ibn Mājah 4240]
The Butterfly Effect states: A butterfly could flap its wings and set molecules of air in motion, which would move other molecules of air, in turn moving more molecules of air— eventually capable of starting a hurricane on the other side of the planet.
Some of you reading this now will not get this post at all, and that's OK. It's not meant for everyone. The likelihood is you and I will see much less of each other from this point onwards as I focus relentlessly on achieving my goals and building my ideal life.
The others who have got to this point of the post will most likely remain in my life because you've taken the time to read this which means that truth is what you are looking for. Which is what an entrepreneur seeks. An entrepreneur seeks the truth because it is in the truth that we find freedom.
And as the saying goes 'The truth shall set you free!'
As the world gears up for a night of fireworks, alcohol and drug abuse remember that this life we have been given is a blessing and a test for us all. How are you utilising it?
Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said take advantage of 5 before 5:
- Your youth before old age
- Your health before sickness
- Your wealth before poverty
- Your time before you get busy
- Your life before death
Think big. Think outside of your comfort zone. Think about how you can help millions of people rather than just yourself. If people tell you you're crazy or start hating on you then you're moving in the right direction. Lose friends and alienate people who aren't adding value to your life and are not on the same journey as you. Would you get in the car with your friend who is driving to Scotland when you need to get to Paris? No, because you're going in 2 completely different directions. You need to find people who are going where you are going and even better, find people who are already at where you want to be who can guide you.
Think big, pray that Allah puts barakah in to your life and take consistent action every day towards achieving your goals. This is the key. This is the 'secret'.
Be humble. Be focussed. Be relentless.
I pray that we are all able to smash passed our goals and achieve greatness in this life for the sake of Allah so that He may have mercy on us in the next. Ameen.
There's many reasons why I post this here today, including:
1) This is a post that I have been meaning to add for a while in order to gain more traffic i.e. using this as an anchor post
2) This post can be referred back to in many years time in order for me to be historically correct and the timing of the posts will speak for itself.
3) I am a Muslim. I am an entrepreneur. I am a tech founder. It is important to know how these things work in order be on the right side of history. What I mean is that: every great industrial revolution brought with it great opportunity, such as the gold rush, the oil boom, Amazon, eBay, etc. Technology is a vehicle to make great change, add immense value to society and create financial success for the entire ecosystem.
Muslims in Tech. Muslims in Fashion. Muslims in Business. Muslims in Technology.
Let me know what your thoughts are on this post and how it makes you feel right now!
